Frisco Water & Sewer Tap and Impact Fees (2026)

The City of Frisco provides water and wastewater through its Public Works department, and a new single-family home pays a meter fee plus water and wastewater impact fees. The published figures add up to about $5,299: an $835 residential meter fee for a 1-inch meter (effective March 2, 2026, including a $150 deposit) and $4,464 in impact fees ($2,120 water plus $2,344 wastewater per service unit). The main caveat is that the impact-fee table the city links is from 2019 and we could not find a newer one, so confirm those two numbers before you budget. Tap fees are not published at all; Public Works quotes them per tap.

Worked example: a new single-family home

Assumptions: detached house, one 1-inch T-10 meter, one service unit, meter site ready on the first visit. Meter fee from the Frisco fee schedule; impact fees from the Water and Wastewater Impact Fee Table (2019, needs review).

Of the $835 meter fee, $150 is a deposit, so the non-refundable part is $685 and the non-refundable total in Case A is $5,149.

The impact-fee table also shows how Frisco sets its single-family rate. Other land uses pay $3,028 for water and $3,348 for wastewater per service unit; single-family homes are charged 70 percent of the maximum. The arithmetic checks out: $3,028 × 0.70 = $2,119.60, published as $2,120, and $3,348 × 0.70 = $2,343.60, published as $2,344. A single-family home therefore pays $1,912 less than the full rate would be ($6,376 − $4,464).

If the lot needs a new tap at the main, add the Public Works quote. Frisco does not publish a figure, so the only numbers we can offer are national estimates: $500–$5,500 for a residential water tap or connection fee (typically about $1,600) and $200–$6,100 for a sewer tap (typically about $3,000). With typical national figures, Case A would become $5,299 + $1,600 + $3,000 = $9,899. Treat that as a planning placeholder, not a Frisco price.

How and when you pay

Frisco sets meters itself. According to the city’s Meter Sets and Payment guidance, meters smaller than 2 inches are usually set the next business day after payment. If crews arrive and the meter site is not ready, the city charges $100. Tap work is priced separately by Public Works, so ask for the quote early if your lot does not already have a service stub.

The impact fees on this page come from a 2019 table that is still the latest one the city links. Frisco may have updated it since without a document we could find. Ask the city to confirm the current single-family rate for your plat before closing or pricing a build.
