Corrections
Utility fees change often and we check them by hand, so some errors are inevitable. We would rather hear about them than leave them up. Reports are handled by Muhammet Çay, who edits the site.
How to report an error
Email corrections@utilitycostguide.com with:
- The URL of the page or database record
- What you believe is wrong and what it should say
- For a fee, a link to the utility’s official schedule, tariff or ordinance and its effective date
What happens next
We compare the report with the source we cited and with any newer applicable document from the utility or responsible public body. Then one of three things happens:
- Confirmed error: we fix the record, update its source and verified date, and log the change if it is material.
- Unclear or conflicting sources: the row is marked “Confirm with utility” until we can confirm the current fee. We do not pick a number without support.
- No error found: the record stays as is. If you gave a return address, we reply and explain what we checked.
We cannot promise a response time, but fee reports are reviewed before other mail. A page’s “Last reviewed” date changes only when we actually re-check its data. Details are in the editorial policy and methodology.
Public corrections log
Material corrections to published pages and data are listed here with the date, the record affected and what changed. Minor typo fixes are not logged.
: Review of the city charge ranking identified wording that implied complete, comparable connection costs. The metric is published authority charges for differing scenarios, including inspection-only Dallas. Private work is excluded; listed amounts and ranks are unchanged. This review corrected scope wording, not every underlying fee schedule.
October 29, 2026: Corrected storage rounding in 18 per-unit fee records for Aurora, Dallas, Greeley, Greensboro, Loveland, Omaha and Wichita. Original fractional rates were restored from the dated source records, and the database and displays now retain that precision. This repair did not introduce new fee schedules or re-verify all published fees; flat-fee amounts were unchanged.
