Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026. Utility Cost Guide is a U.S.-focused informational site. This policy explains what information a visit may generate and how to make privacy choices.
Information we collect
Our host and Cloudflare may process server and security logs such as IP address, request time, URL, browser information, and security events to deliver and protect the site. If Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is enabled, it may record page views and events such as calculator use, along with standard device and traffic information. Calculator inputs and results are calculated in your browser; personal identifiers entered into calculator fields are not sent to us as calculator data. Avoid putting personal information in free-text inputs or emails unless needed for your request.
If you email us, we receive your address, message, and any information you include. We use it to review reports and reply when appropriate.
Cookies and advertising
GA4, when enabled, may use cookies to measure visits and usage. If we add Google AdSense, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies for ads, including personalized ads and third-party cookies where permitted. Learn about Google’s advertising technologies, change Google ad settings, or use industry ad opt-out choices. Browser settings can also limit cookies. These choices may not remove all ads.
Retention and sharing
Host and Cloudflare logs are kept under those providers’ operational retention settings. Analytics data, if enabled, follows the configured GA4 retention setting. We keep contact emails as needed to handle the inquiry and maintain an accurate correction record, then delete them when no longer needed. We may share technical visit data with the providers that run hosting, security, analytics, or advertising; we do not provide calculator entries to a utility or contractor.
Your choices and U.S. privacy rights
We do not sell personal information as defined by state privacy laws. Advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising under some laws. You can limit such use through Google ad settings, the industry opt-out link above, and your browser’s cookie controls. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals by disabling advertising personalization where our providers support it. You may email contact@utilitycostguide.com to ask what contact information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We will handle applicable requests under relevant U.S. state law.
This site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.
